We will introduce the distinctive plants of the Adinandra belukar and other native plants like adinandra, tembusu, tiup-tiup and senduduk, and their practical uses. The canopy boardwalk may surprise us with flying dragons, crested green lizards and squirrels. Soaring above us often are sea eagles. Out to sea are the south-western islands and the changing Pasir Panjang shoreline is brought alive with the memories of former residents. Along the route, visitors will note the significant points of the Battle of Pasir Panjang during which a small force of the Malay Regiment valiantly defended the ridge against the invading Japanese Imperial Army. Reflections at Bukit Chandu, our end point, will fill in the pieces of the battle and there the guiddes leave you to reflect on Singapore's special heritage of heroism.
