See how gardening efforts by the community have contributed towards greening up and beautifying our environment. Venue: Central Lending Library - Level 1- The Plaza 15 Apr (Sat): Talk on Creating Your Fragrant Garden Gardens with beautiful and bright flowers are a joy to look at. Growing fragrant flowers will add that magical and scented touch to your garden. Have you ever thought of creating your own fragrant garden? Join NParks at this programme to pick up practical tips on how to go about cultivating your own fragrant garden. Participants will learn about the suitable species of fragrant plants to choose from, where to place them, and how to care for them. Time: 4-6pm Venue : Central Lending Library - Multi-Purpose Room Contact: National Library on their website 15 Apr (Sat): Plant Walk at Hindhede Nature Park A guided walk at this park next to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve to learn about plants and the products that we get from them. This activity is co-organized together with the Green Volunteers from Ngee Ann Poly, which adopted the park in 2004. Time: 9.30-12.00 noon. The survival of the animals and the plants are inter-linked. Join Mr Andrew Tan, National Parks Board, as he shares his observations on the inter dependency relationship between the fruiting plants and the animals of Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. Time: 2.30-3.30 pm Venue: Woodlands Regional Library - Activity Room Contact: National Library on their website 15 Apr (Sat): National Orchid Garden Tour free guided walk Explore the beauty and diversity of orchids at the Singapore Botanic Gardens with volunteer guides in this one-hour tour. Please register 15 minutes before the tour. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis at the Visitor Centre. more Time: 9am, 10am, 11am and 4pm. Besides the abundant bird life, there is also other fascinating wildlife in the Reserve. more 9am: Marine Fish Tour, a 30-minute tour introducing the fascinating fishes of Buloh. Time: 9am, 10am, 3pm, 4pm, for walk in guests, register at the Visitor Centre. Those coming with large groups are advised to pre-register. Tour duration: one to one and a half hours. Easy trails, some suitable for young children. Entry charges: $1 per adult, 50cents per child/student/senior citizen.
