17 Sep (Fri): Launch of the Circle of Life Art Exhibition
Time: 6.30 pm at epSITE EPSON Imaging Gallery, Wheelock Place, Level Three

EPSON Imaging Gallery in conjunction with the Nature Society (Singapore), will launch the Circle of Life Art Exhibition to inspire and develop an interest in art and an appreciation for our natural world. Following a call for exhibits, the gallery received a staggering total of 100 digital art paintings of animals, plants and nature of Singapore and the region. Entries were received from secondary schools, art colleges, tertiary institutions and budding amateur artists. NSS President, Dr Geh Min will be the Guest-of-Honour. Eight kids from Marsiling Primary and Tanjong Katong Primary Schools will introduce us to Circle of Life messages.

Paintings from 28 artists were selected and will be exhibited at epSITE from 18 Sep until 31 Oct, Mon-Sun (11am-9pm). Admission is free.

18 Sep (Sat): Free guided Adventure Walk at Pulau Ubin
Time: 10am

Free 1 and a half- 2 hour guided walk by the Green Volunteers Network. The newest of all their walks, it will take you to more remote parts of the island. Meet 10am sharp at Changi Point Jetty, under angsana tree nearest to jetty. More details about Ubin and about the walk at the GVN website. PRE-REGISTRATION IS NECESSARY for this event. Bookings are on a first come first serve basis, up to a max of 25.

18 Sep (Sat): International Coastal Cleanup, Singapore
(Beach and Mangroves)


The International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) is an annual event conducted in 70-100 countries, coordinated by the US-based agency, The Ocean Conservancy, a non-profit organisation. It aims to remove and collect data on the debris from the shorelines. This information serves to educate and encourage positive change.

Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

Time: 9am, 10am, 3pm, 4pm

You'll see the fabulous plants and animals of the mangroves and freshwater wetlands. Meet at the Visitor Centre. Usual entry charges apply: $1 per adult, 50cents per child /student/senior citizen. More details
