ON THIS WEEK?! Nature activities and events happening this week 26 Jul - 1 Aug 2004 28 Jul (Wed): Slidetalk "Green Green Grass of Home" Time: 7.15pm. The NSS office at The Sunflower, 510 Geylang Road #02-05 Join Joseph Lai's talk and accompanying walk, on 31 Jul (Sat), and take a trip into the wonderful world of grasses. Learn to identify some of the common and rare grasses found in Singapore’s wetlands, rainforests, seashores and open areas. Joe still considers himself an avid student, not an expert, but hopes to share his accumulated learning about our grasses and their uniqueness, as well as the importance of grasses to our well-being. This is part of the Plant Group’s Plant Appreciation Course and which requires registration. This course is limited to 30 people who must first register with Kok Wei at moreh@starhub.net.sg A nominal charge of $10 (members) and $15 (non-members) will be collected on the day of the talk. Meet at the Visitor Centre. Usual entry charges apply: $1 per adult, 50cents per child /student/senior citizen. Meet at Ranger Counter at Visitor Centre. You'll learn more about the rainforest and the plants and animals that live there. More details about the Reserve and about the guided walk on the NParks Central Nature Reserve website. To join the guided tour, you will need to pre-book.
