Nature activities and events happening this week 31 May - 6 Jun 2004 5 Jun (Sat): PrawnWatch at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Time: 9.30am, please be at the Visitor Centre by 9am View a demonstration of the traditional method of prawn harvesting. Learn how the tides play a part in this activity. The demonstration is free but usual entry charges to the Reserve apply: $1 per adult, 50cents per child/student/senior citizen. Meet at Casuarina Entrance of the trail along Old Upper Thomson Road. You'll learn and see more about the plants and animals of the secondary forest and wetlands of the Lower Peirce Reservoir. Open only to NSS members and associates By San Shang Shui. A pleasant walk around this park in the morning to look for Red-crowned Barbet, Olive-winged Bulbul, the stunning Crimson Sunbird and the handsome Common Iora. Maybe some feral Pied Hornbills too. Part 2 of our fern series will take us around the MacRitchie Reservoir area, where we will see some common and some not-so-common ferns.
