Tan of the National University of Singapore introduces the diversity and beauty of the little known world of mosses in SE Asia is shown in a series of close-up photographic images. One of their naturally occurring habitats, the montane mossy forest, offers equally a great opportunity for appreciation of nature draped in quiet and verdant coloration. As a new source of information about this group of cryptogams in tropical SE Asia, the interactive Malesian moss database housed at the NUS website is also presented. Dr Benito was presented with the prestigious Richard Spruce Award this January. He is the first in Asia to receive the award.
