New book on biodiversity in Singapore waters launched by NUS, ExxonMobil

SINGAPORE: A new book documenting creatures found in Singapore's waters was launched on Friday evening by Minister for the Environment and Water resources, Dr Yaacob Ibrahim.

Titled "Private Lives: An Expose of Singapore Shores", it explores almost 300 species of plants and animals. The book was written by Professor Peter Ng from the National University of Singapore ( NUS), which has collaborated with ExxonMobil on the project.

With S$600,000 set aside by the ExxonMobil Biodiversity Fund, NUS and ExxonMobil have also worked together on various projects to educate the public on Singapore's biodiversity. - CNA/ac
