Channel NewsAsia 29 May 07 Young S'poreans passionate about environmental issues SINGAPORE: The National Weather Study Project, a competition among schools on climate change, has shown that young Singaporeans are increasingly passionate about environmental issues. At the awards presentation on Tuesday, 14 teams were commended for their efforts in studying the impact of climate change on Singaporeans' lifestyles. Giving out the prizes, Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan noted that winners of the competition would be Singapore's future activists in environmental protection. 372 projects were submitted for the competition – nearly a hundred more than last year's inaugural contest. links Related articles on Singapore: general environmental issues |
