NewsAsia 31 Aug 06 Feedback Unit to seek public's views on its new mission By Farah Abdul Rahim, Channel NewsAsia The Feedback Unit aims to better engage and involve Singaporeans. It will start a month-long public consultation exercise in September to seek the public's views on its new mission. Key questions include how it can extend its reach to a wider public and how to cultivate a more active citizenry. Members of the public can give their views through a number of channels. They can respond to an online e-consultation paper to be posted on the Unit's website or participate in an e-poll. Those interested can also take part in an online discussion forum, or sign up for focus group discussions. These sessions will be chaired by members of the Feedback Supervisory Panel, which recently saw the inclusion of 21 new faces. Members of the public can find out details of the focus group discussions and sign up via the feedback portal at www.feedback.gov.sg. They can also call 1800 353 5555 to register. Among the groups the Unit plans to consult are youths and students under 25 years, working adults from 25 to 54, and senior citizens. - CNA/ch links Related articles on Singapore: general environmental issues |
