Heritage fest seeks to answer questions on heritage, identity
By Eunice Ong, Channel NewsAsia

The National Heritage Board is seeking to get Singaporeans to answer the age-old question - "What makes you, you?"

So besides the usual heritage trails, this year's heritage festival will explore nature and show how it contributes to forming identity.

Participants will be taken on a natural heritage trail to Labrador Park and Kent Ridge Park.

They will also visit the heartlands in a pilot project as part of the heritage festival. There will also be a treasure hunt that gets participants to solve cryptic clues and race to historically significant parts of Singapore.

The heritage festival will be held in July and it aims to engage the young and old to explore the different identities Singaporeans take on at different stages of their lives. Singapore HeritageFest 2006 will run from July 12-23.
