Fire at Tuas recycling plant ignites two-storey high pile of rubbish
By Joanne Leow, Channel NewsAsia

SINGAPORE : A fire at a Tuas recycling plant ignited a two-storey high pile of rubbish on Friday.

The blaze started after 7am at Tuas Avenue 20. Within eight minutes firemen arrived at the Eco Resource Recovery Centre, which is owned by Eco Industrial Environmental Engineering. Despatched were two fire engines, two red rhinos and two support vehicles.

It took 20 minutes to get the fire under control and firemen continued to damp down the pile of rubbish for the rest of the day.

SCDF is still investigating the cause of the fire.
